ABOUT US

SheRize is a platform that aims to highlight the successes of women from across the globe—particularly those who come from marginalized communities. Most of us can attest to the difficulties of going to college, opening up a business, and starting a career. Unfortunately, there are those who get discouraged along the way. But for those of us who made it through, our achievements can inspire someone else not to give up. Our successes are a reflection of the faith, hard work, perseverance, consistency, and drive that it took for us to achieve our goals.

The vision of SheRize is to bring all those women together to inspire other young women to reach their goals and RIZE to their fullest potential. Our foundation is rooted in our belief in God.  We can make our plans, but it is he who helps us to achieve them—Proverbs 16:9 We will achieve these goals through mentorship. A mentor is something that I didn't have until much later in life. As a first-generation woman navigating my way through college, if it was not for my faith in God and a couple of close friends who encouraged me along the way, I don't know how I would have made it.  I quickly learned that it's so important to have people in your life that pour into you and are there to encourage you along the way. I want other young women to experience the power of having a village. I want to give them what I wish I had early on, and this is how SheRize was birthed. There is a need out there among young women, especially those from marginalized communities to see their own image being represented in all different sectors of society. We are Doctors, Lawyers, Engineers, Entrepreneurs, Congress women, Accountants, Counselors, church leaders, and even Vice Presidents. We can do ALL things through Christ who is our strength--Philippians 4:13. SheRize is a continual progression towards greatness.  Every person has a story of how they overcame a challenging time in their life. Our unique life experiences are vital to our success. They make us who we are. Maybe your story can help change someone’s life trajectory because they will know what it’s like to rize above difficult circumstances and still become who they were meant to be all along.  I RIZE so that I can reach down and help someone else to RIZE.

It is our time to be purpose driven in all aspects of our lives. Let’s empower, encourage, uplift, and support one another. One of my favorite stories in the Bible is the one about Esther--a young Jewish girl who saved the entire Jewish nation because of her position as the queen. She was strategically placed in that position so she can save an entire nation. While we may not be able to reach every young woman in need, we can reach the ones in our immediate vicinity and who knows one day, maybe the world. Could it be that you were chosen for such a time as this?—Esther 4:14.

Can I be honest?

Greetings, I hope you all are doing well and counting all of your blessings this holiday season. I sure am. If I can admit it, this year has been a whirlwind of ups and downs, but through it all, I count it all joy because I am still here to see it. From failed spring break plans, to no graduation, moving, the end of a friendship, studying for the bar for 5 months, catching covid..whew! This year was not for the faint of heart but through it all, God has been crazy faithful. Tonight, I am reflecting on all this year entailed and if I can be honest, it was a hot mess. I try to have a very optimistic attitude towards life because I believe that it is truly what you make it and as the saying goes, "what does not kill you, only makes you stronger." Well, right now, I feel like super woman. But I'm also aware that some people had it far worse than me. Some lost family members, jobs, homes etc... Life is a series of highs and lows. Like the book of Ecclesiastes eloquently puts ...

Women Entrepreneurs: Elaine Jean Pierre

Good morning early rizers, On Saturdays, we highlight women entrepreneurs. Today I want to highlight the business of my good friend Elaine called 'The Pierre Group.' Go follow on Instagram and visit her website www.thepierregroupcs.com  for all of your consulting needs. Some of her services include but not limited to bookkeeping, credit repair, payroll, tax preparation, financial planning, notary signing, document filing, and consultation. She launched her business this year in the middle of a pandemic! It takes money, ambition, and vision to launch any business let alone launching it in a year where everything was so unpredictable. Below she answers some questions to motivate and inspire the next generation of women entrepreneurs. 1. What do you do for a living? I am an audit analyst and also a business owner. The special thing that God has given me is a heart to help. I have this thing where I can help revive a persons business no matter what type of business it is. It eve...
