Good morning early rizers,
On Saturdays, we highlight women entrepreneurs. Today I want to highlight the business of my good friend Elaine called 'The Pierre Group.' Go follow on Instagram and visit her website www.thepierregroupcs.com for all of your consulting needs. Some of her services include but not limited to bookkeeping, credit repair, payroll, tax preparation, financial planning, notary signing, document filing, and consultation. She launched her business this year in the middle of a pandemic! It takes money, ambition, and vision to launch any business let alone launching it in a year where everything was so unpredictable. Below she answers some questions to motivate and inspire the next generation of women entrepreneurs.
1. What do you do for a living?
I am an audit analyst and also a business owner. The special thing that God has given me is a heart to help. I have this thing where I can help revive a persons business no matter what type of business it is. It even come down to personal things that people need done. I see things through a different lens. Ideas run through my mind 75mph and I end up volunteering myself to help that person see their potential and the potential of their business. After years of doing this not ever thinking of owning my own business, The Pierre Group was born.
2. What influenced you to pursue this field of study?
I pursued the field of finance and accounting because of my love and passion for numbers. I’m an analyst at heart 🤷🏾♀️. I analyze everything so it was only right that I would pick a career where I would analyze financial statements and spreadsheets all day. As an entrepreneur, I believe that it is important to be passionate about the path a person chooses. If it has something to do with numbers, I’m your girl. I have a passion to unlock potential. 💙
4. What motivates you to get up every morning?
I am motivated to wake up every morning to put the gifts that God has given me to work. So many of the things that I do I never looked at them as gifts but I am grateful to be up every morning to help others.
5. How has your faith shaped you into who you are?
I know that there is a higher power and God is watching over me. My thought process changed when I truly allowed God to move. I trust Him in every decision for my life. When bad things happen I know that my Father is watching, making sure that I can handle it, waiting to see if he needs to catch me. God is one that I can truly count on.
6. What advice would you give to your 17-year-old self?
Baby girl I am sorry. I know that you know of God because these past 17 years of life you were in church, Sunday’s for church, Tuesday’s for house visits, Wednesday’s for bible study and Fridays for midnight service with your parents, People of great faith but there was something missing. There is lack of teaching in our Haitian community about why we choose God instead, they tell us you just have to go to church. I just want to tell you to keep pushing, the same way God has not forgotten about you, you won’t either. Despite your mistakes you will always give him the glory and acknowledge His presence in your life. The enemy has already seen your potential and has disrupted your life but take heart. God is with you. Be safe and keep God first always. He has great plans for you, you’ll see.
10. What advice would you give to a young person who can’t decide on what they want to do in terms of a career?
Find something that you love and make that into you’re career. Do not choose a major in college because of the money you think you might make. You will wake up dreading to go to work everyday. A short story: when I was in college, I let people around me talk me into going to nursing school . I took the test to get into nursing school, passed. I passed the interview to get into the nursing program. I received my acceptance letter and here I was in nursing school hating every moment of it. So, I quit. I looked through the catalog of majors at the nearest university and start jotting down what I like to do, what I love. I knew I loved math because no matter what there is a resolution at the end. So math it was, now to select a major. There was finance, accounting, engineering, actuary, economist; the list goes on. I finally narrowed it down to finance and accounting. Here I am today loving what I do.
